Finally, something written about Carlos that does more than rehash old stuff or fan the flames of controversy. 
This book definitely added to my understanding of the teachings and experiences of Castenada. 
There is something very simple yet deep in the way the material is presented.  I loved it.

It's the best book I've read in a long time.  Send my best to the author!  It's obvious to me that this guy is the real deal, and that he did
an excellent job recording it all.

These sound like the nagual Carlos Castaneda's words (in the book).  And the thing about attending the naguals lectures was just being around him put you in a different state of awareness, which made it difficult to remember exactly what he said.  And we didn't, weren't allowed to take notes then either. So that Armando Torres was able to capture these words-- which have energy-- is very impressive.
